The Union Government unveiled a new scheme called” Agnipath” on June 14 for the reclamation of dogfaces in the Army, the Navy and the Air Force, largely on a short- term contractual base, with an end to cut the bunching payment and pensions bill.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh blazoned the new scheme at a media briefing, shortly after the Cabinet Committee on Security approved it.

” The Agnipath reclamation scheme is a transformative action that will give a immature profile to the fortified forces,”Mr. Singh said.
The revolutionary changes in the reclamation process will see the induction of the dogfaces originally for a period of four times and some of them would be retained.
” Under the Agnipath scheme, Indian youths will be handed an occasion to serve in the fortified forces as’ Agniveer’,” the Defence Minister said.

The defence Budget of ₹ crore for 2022- 23 included ₹ crore for defence pensions. The allocation for profit expenditure was ₹ crore. The profit expenditure includes the charges on payment of hires and conservation of establishments.
