Heavy rainfall triggers landslide on Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway.

A landslide occurred on the Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway as heavy rainfall continued to lash parts of Uttarakhand for the third consecutive day. A landslide heavy rainfall occurred on the Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway. A landslide triggered by heavy rainfall occurred on Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway on Friday. Several vehicles were stranded and many others were damaged as boulders tumbled down, blocking the roads in the area.

The Rishikesh-Badrinath highway has been closed in Sirobagad and Nekota areas of Rudraprayag district as heavy rainfall lashed parts of Uttarakhand on Thursday. Visuals from the area where the landslide occurred.

The Kedarnath-Badrinath National Highway has also been closed in Midnapur near Rudraprayag. Uttarakhand has been witnessing a heavy downpour for three consecutive days now, following which highways at several places have been closed, fearing incidents of landslide.
