The Noida Authority has started a call centre and issued a helpline number to address waterlogging complaints in the thunderstorm. People can telephone0120-2423795 any time of the day.
RP Singh, deputy general director of the jal/ seamster department of the Noida Authority, said the helpline number would serve round the- timepiece in this thunderstorm. The call centre will run from July 1- September 15.
“ We’ve engaged a platoon to work day and night. They will register residers’ complaints and pass the information to the officers concerned in their separate workcircles. However, we will pump the water out, ” he said, If there’s waterlogging in any sector in the Noida Authority area.
The brigades will work in three shifts, 6 am- 2 pm, 2 pm- 10 pm and 10 pm- 6 am.
Noida has 25 arterial stormwater rainspouts, which inclusively cover a 87 km distance. utmost of these don’t have any fencing, hedge or signage. In March 2015, the National Green Tribunal directed communal authorities to clean up all stormwater rainspouts and insure no sewage or solid waste gets ditched in them.
But KK Jain, general clerk of Federation of Noida residers Welfare Associations( FONRWA), said the rainspouts remain choked in different areas, precluding rainwater from flowing freely.
“ We’ve constantly asked the Noida Authority to clean the Noida Authority to clean the rainspouts before thunderstorm. still, in different sectors, the rainspouts remain sick. Monsoon rain has just started, and the area will face waterlogging in the coming days if the on- ground situation doesn’t change, ” he said.
residers said solid objects similar as plastic bags, food waste, paper, leaves, and other debris accumulate in the rainspouts and obstruct the water inflow. Noida generally gets complaints of waterlogging in areas like Rajnigandha, Kalindi Kunj, Sector 37, DND Flyway circle, Sector 62, Surajpur, Tilapta,etc.
On Saturday, Noida recorded33.8 degrees outside and25.9 degrees minimal temperature. The downfall data remained unapproachable.
The India Meteorological Department ( IMD) cast shows Noida may admit light or moderate, scattered to fairly- wide downfall on Sunday.
