Must Read

On July 23, 2023, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) achieved a significant milestone as it successfully launched the Chandrayaan-3 mission, marking its second attempt at a soft landing on the Lunar surface. The Launch Vehicle Mark-III (LVM3) M4 vehicle carrying Chandrayaan-3 took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 2:30 pm local time, amid great anticipation and excitement .

The stakes are high for this ambitious mission. If it succeeds, India will become the fourth nation to achieve a soft landing on the Moon, joining the ranks of the US, the former Soviet Union, and China. India had made a previous attempt with Chandrayaan-2 in 2019, but the mission’s lander Vikram and rover Pragyaan unfortunately crashed on the Moon’s surface during the landing attempt.

The successful launch of Chandrayaan-3 marks another milestone in India’s space exploration endeavors. With ambitious objectives and a focus on soft landing and scientific experiments on the Moon’s surface, the mission aims to put India among a select group of countries with successful lunar landings. The Chandrayaan-3 mission also signifies India’s commitment to advancing its technological capabilities in space exploration, and if it achieves its goals, it will further strengthen India’s position in the global space community.
