Delhi-NCR Heavy rain lashes parts , IMD predicts thundershowers with cloudy sky.

Heavy rains lashed corridor of the public capital on Thursday, bringing down the minimal temperature to23.8 degrees Celsius – four notches below the season’s normal.

Meanwhile, the maximum temperature settled at34.2 degrees Celsius – three notches below the normal, an Indian Meteorological Department( IMD) bulletin said. After heavy downfall in Delhi and its girding areas, the rainfall department issued an’ orange’ alert in the megacity.

The IMD uses four colour canons for rainfall warnings-‘ green'( no action demanded),’ unheroic'( watch and stay streamlined),’ orange'( be prepared) and’ red'( take action). The orange alert is a warning to be prepared, pointing to the possibility of business dislocations and waterlogging, which was reported in several corridor of the megacity.

According to IMD data, the relative moisture which stood at 100 per cent at8.30 am was recorded at 70 per cent at5.30 pm. As per the data by Central Pollution Control Board( CPCB), the average 24- hour Air Quality Index( AQI) on Thursday was recorded in the moderate order at 101.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered” good”, 51 and 100″ satisfactory”, 101 and 200″ moderate”, 201 and 300″ poor”, 301 and 400″ veritably poor”, and 401 and 500″ severe”. According to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi, the air quality is likely to remain in the’ satisfactory’ order from June 30 to July 2.

Monsoon came and with it came a breath of relief for the people of Delhi- NCR as they woke up to cooler temperatures. The heavy downfall led to the India Meteorological Department( IMD) issuing an ‘ orange ’ alert for the megacity. The alert hints at the possibility of business and waterlogging in the megacity. Several corridor of the megacity saw water- logged roads.
